ABOUT DR. ATA

Muhammad Ata, MD, is a primary care and internal medicine physician at Premier Medical Clinic. Dr. Ata offers exceptional adult primary care to patients living in Scottsboro, Alabama. He received his medical education at Dow Medical College. Dr. Ata then pursued residency training at Wright State University Dayton Ohio. Dr. Ata is a board-certified internal medicine physician through the American Board of Internal Medicine. As an internist, he can help diagnose and treat conditions that affect your internal organs. While as a primary care physician, Dr.Ata provides comprehensive acute,chronic care and urgent care for individuals and families. He also provides suboxone therapy for opiod addiction.

ABOUT DR. MUNOZ

Cesar E. Munoz was born and raised in Lima-Peru. He obtained his Medical Degree at the prestigious Cayetano Heredia University in Peru. He completed his medical internship and Psychiatry Residence at the UAB Department of Psychiatry. He also completed a Public Psychiatry Fellowship at the Community Psychiatry Program.  

He is Board Certified in Psychiatry and Neurology. He worked as staff psychiatrist at the Veteran’s Affairs in Tuscaloosa from (1995 to 1998). He became Jr. Faculty in Psychiatry at University of Alabama at Birmingham from (1998 to 2002). He worked at the Birmingham Veteran’s Affairs Medical Hospital as Director of Mental Health Services from 2003 to 2007. Dr. Munoz also started working and has continued working in a part-time Private Practice serving the community’s mental health needs and the mental health needs of immigrants. Dr. Munoz is fully bilingual, and has also worked assisting Immigration attorneys with psychiatric evaluations. 

He continued providing inpatient and outpatient mental health care to UBA West and Hill Crest Hospital. He is currently dedicating himself to his full private practice with Psych Wellness South LLC, and provided inpatient and outpatient services at Hill Crest Hospital, outpatient services at his outpatient office until October 2021. He provided psychiatric consultation services at St. Vincent’s Hospital Birmingham. Dr. Munoz is also a Certified ECT specialist and has been providing these services since 2008, to 2019 at St. Vincent’s East Hospital. He currently is a staff psychiatrist at the Tuscaloosa VAMC providing inpatient services. He Also provides telemedicine services at Pisgah Health Clinic in Scottsboro and Quality of Life Services , Huntsville, Alabama and the Center for Cognitive Disorders in Osage Beach Missouri.

ABOUT DR. BALACHANDRAN

Leading cardiologist Anand Balachandran, MD, provides top-tier care for concerns like chest pain, heart murmurs, and varicose veins while ensuring patients understand what their treatment entails. Dr. Balachandran attended medical school and completed his internship at the Academy of Medical Sciences in Pariyaram, India, before becoming a junior resident at the Department of Internal Medicine Pushpagiri Medical College in Kerala, India. He then moved stateside to complete a residency and internship at the Brooklyn Hospital Center at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, which is affiliated with Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City, New York. 

During his final year there, he became chief resident. Following the completion of his residency, Dr. Balachandran continued training with cardiovascular disease fellowships at the Brooklyn Hospital Center as well as Mount Sinai Beth Israel in Manhattan, New York City.

During his final year, he rose to the position of chief fellow of the division of cardiovascular diseases. Throughout his formal training and years in education, Dr. Balachandran has received numerous awards and recognitions for his excellence in care. He has also held multiple teaching and lecturing positions throughout his career. Today, he uses the skills he gained through his teaching experience to educate patients on their cardiovascular health and the treatments they need.

ABOUT DR. GIBSON

Dr. Susan M. Gibson is a family medicine doctor in Scottsboro. She received her medical degree from University of Alabama School of Medicine and has been in practice for more than 20 years. Family medicine doctors are primary-care physicians trained to meet the diverse health needs of children and families. Dr. Gibson graduated from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in 1996. Specializing in emergency medicine, Dr. Gibson is prepared to treat patients suffering from a wide range of acute illnesses, injuries or conditions.

ABOUT DR. NEMATI

Bethany Nemati was raised in Harvest, AL. She attended the University of Alabama in Huntsville, majoring in mathematics. She then attended the University of Alabama School of Medicine, followed by Prisma Health Pediatric Residency in Columbia, SC. She now lives in Scottsboro with her husband Jon, their two cats, and her husband’s collection of reptiles. She and Jon enjoy cooking, hiking, and gardening.

ABOUT JOSIAH ALDRUP

Mr. Josiah Aldrup is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who specializes in treatment of mental health issues. He graduated from the University of Alabama Huntsville in 2013 with a BSN and later attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2017 with a MSN. Mr. Aldrup has experience treating a multitude of conditions including but not limited to mood disorders, ADHD, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, PTSD and OCD. He treats patients of all ages and has experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings. He has worked for several years as an inpatient psychiatric nurse, working with severely mentally ill adult and adolescent patients prior to becoming a nurse practitioner. Mr. Aldrup primarily provides mental health evaluations and medication management services.

ABOUT JANNA CULPEPPER

Janna Culpepper CRNP, is a nurse practitioner who graduated with honors from the University of Alabama. She later went on to recieve a masters and doctoral degree in advanved clinical training. Janna has been practicing for over 31 years and has a wide range of experiance in the field.
